Khun Saree is a traditional saree from Guledagudda in the states of Karnataka. Khun Saree comes in a combination of cotton and silk, the body is made of cotton while the pallu is made of silk or art silk.
History of Khun Saree
There is no particular time recorded of the origination of Khun Saree but it is believed to have started in the 8th century in Karnataka and flourished under the rule of the Chakulya dynasty. Initially, during festivals, a triangular folded cloth was kept on top of the Khun Saree and offered to Goddesses but with time it becomes well known among the locals.
